Proposed Tolls

This is a very brief look at what the NCTA is proposing for the Triangle and NC's first toll roads. The overall project is currently named the Triangle Expressway. An overall map of the project from NCTA:

Here is a breakdown of the 2 sections that combine to make the Triangle Expressway.

1. Western Wake Parkway: I-540 (or NC 540 as it is known here) from NC 54 in RTP south to NC 55 near Holly Springs. Part of the road is currently complete (built with YOUR TAX DOLLARS and other funding) from I-40 south to NC 55 in RTP and is toll free.

2. Triangle Parkway: NC 147 (known as the Durham Freeway) between I-40 south to NC 540 (I-540). This extension of NC 147 REMOVES access to TW Alexander Dr.
